Hello there!
Thank you for taking your time to visit my little corner of the world. I'm Anastasia and I'm a self taught illustrator from Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
As long as I can remember I’ve always had a pencil in my hand: from writing my own stories and creating my own books to doodling all over my school papers during class. I embarked on my illustration journey during my time in the UK. I began sharing my work online throughout the pandemic and it slowly started to run its own course, which I’m very grateful for. I moved back to my hometown in the Netherlands in 2024.
I get inspired by nature, folklore, slow living and the joys of childhood (when I’m not drawing I work as an early years teacher). With my illustrations I want to create a world where you can wind down, a world where you’re welcomed by furry friends and a big slice of freshly baked pie. I like to capture small moments of bliss that remind me of simpler times. My love for anthropomorphic animals comes from slavic folklores and fables that I grew up with.
My go to materials are watercolours, Indian ink with a dip pen and colouring pencils.
I like…. Hobbits, fresh flowers, a warm bowl of oats with apple and cinnamon, candle light, Vincent van Gogh, one of a kind wonky pottery, the smell of rosemary and lavender, late night campfires, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hans Christian Andersen, Winnie the Pooh, home-made apple pie, ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’, walks and cuddles with my dogs Koda and Siep, making clay wallhangers and figurines, cosy jumpers, the first footprints in fresh snow, animal Christmas tree decorations, Eva Cassidy, the colours purple and green, fresh autumn days, the beginning of spring.

My dream is to write and illustrate my own stories that focus on mental health and coping with difficult topics, books I wish I had growing up. Because of my own experience, with trauma, abuse and neglect, I hope I can bring stories to life that make children feel understood and give them some comfort.

‘Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always endures. Love never fails.’
